The Google Local Business Center (and other popular location directories) is a great marketing tool for advisors. What is it?Google local is the map view for google searches. Click here to see what I mean: http://local.google.com/ Why is it useful?People use it to find dentists, restaurants, and YES, financial advisors around their local area. It will build credibility for your firm and if you have a qualifying process built into your website, it can't hurt.
What's new?Google has vastly improved their Local Business Center. So if you have an old account out there you'll want to update it with more information (like a company overview, services, a photo of your office, and a link to your site). By doing this you'll also increase your Search Engine Ranking Position (SERP). If you don't have your business on Google Local/Maps, you need to add it today! Here is a sample listing I did for a client a few months ago. New reporting dashboard. Learn how people find your business. The Google LBC now has a new interface designed to show you more about how customers interact with your verified business listing. A new reporting dashboard shows statistics about your business listing, like how many users saw your business as a local search result, zip codes where driving directions requests come from, and the top search queries for which your business appeared.
